Police are investigating after an armed robbery of a Christchurch service station overnight.
A man armed with what appeared to be a gun entered the Caltex service station on Russley Road about 1am, Acting Inspector John Robinson of southern police communications said.
"He made demands, but we're not sure what has been taken yet."
The lone attendant was unhurt but "pretty traumatised" by the incident, Mr Robinson said.
