Young male pedestrian killed in Hobsonville

A young male pedestrian was hit by a car and killed in Hobsonville, Auckland this afternoon.

The man died after being hit on Scott Rd about 2.20pm.

Police are working to identify him and notify his next of kin. There was no age available.

The Serious Crash Unit is investigating.

In a separate incident, a 14-year-old girl suffered a cut face and hand and leg injuries when she was hit by a car in Henderson.

St John Ambulance spokesman Norm Ngatai said accident happened on Lincoln Rd at 5.50pm.

"The patient had a laceration to the face and injuries to the hand and leg,'' he said.

She was taken to Starship Hospital in a serious condition.
