Two serious after Lower Hutt crash

Four people were injured, two seriously, when two cars collided in Lower Hutt this afternoon.

A Wellington Free Ambulance spokesman said the crash occurred on the corner of Fairway Drive and Taita Drive about 12.30pm.

A man in his 60s had serious head and chest injuries and a man in his 40s had serious pelvic injuries.

Two other men, in their 20s and 30s, had minor to moderate injuries.

They were all taken to Hutt Hospital.

A Fire service spokesman said one of the men was trapped and had to be cut out of the wreckage,.

Police were investigating.
