Man stabbed at west Auckland club

A man was stabbed and suffered a head injury in an assault at a west Auckland night club early this morning.

Police said the 46-year-old victim was assaulted by a group of unknown males inside Fiafia Night Club on Great North Rd, New Lynn.

Emergency services arrived about 1.30am and found the man with a stab wound to his chest and a head injury.

He was taken to Auckland Hospital where he was in a stable condition.

The offenders fled the scene in a vehicle before police got there and had not been located.
Anyone with information about this incident was urged to contact the Henderson CIB on (09) 839 0624 or call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.

About an hour later, police were called to nearby Ernie Pinches St in Mt Roskill after receiving numerous reports of people fighting.

Senior Sergeant Jason Greenhalgh said when police arrived the victim was no longer at the scene.

He was found on nearby Richardson Rd a short time later with minor injuries.

Two people were being spoken to by police in connection with the incident, Mr Greenhalgh said.

It was thought the victim was known to the attackers.
