An 8-year-old Auckland runaway found safe and well today was using public transport and "hanging out with other young people", police said.
Makai Keegan ran away from his home in Manurewa on Sunday and was found by police this morning after a member of the public reported his whereabouts.
The eight-year-old was found at a house in Manurewa.
Counties Manukau police spokesman Ross Henderson said police were still speaking to Makai about the past five days.
He had been hanging out with other young people, visiting malls and travelling between Manurewa and the city, Mr Henderson said.
He thanked the community for their help and support in locating Makai.
