A teenager will stand trial for the murder of a South Auckland man.

The 17-year-old appeared in the High Court at Auckland this morning along with his 15-year-old co-accused.

Police say the pair are responsible for the murder of 23-year-old Tamiti Tupe whose body was found on Hillside Rd in the Auckland suburb of Mt Wellington in late September.

The 15-year-old is yet to enter a plea.

Justice Mark Cooper set a trial date for March next year.

Both teens have name suppression because of their age.
