Media couple Mike Hosking and Kate Hawkesby have put their Remuera home on the market as they search for a bigger property for their large family.
The pair bought the Shore Rd house in Remuera in 2009 for $2.135 million, months before Hosking proposed to Ms Hawkesby, now his wife.
The five-bedroom weatherboard house was valued at $1.97 million in July 2011, but Unlimited Potential real estate agent Richard Hart said the CV was "way out" and it is expected to go for much more in the current market.
Built in the 1950s, the 365sq m house sits on a 1190sq m section and features three bathrooms and has a swimming pool and spa outside.
The couple have repainted the home inside and out, installed under-floor heating and given the gardens a facelift.
"It's a big character home that faces north," Mr Hart said.
"They've made it look really nice, it looks pretty awesome. When I took my team through, the one word everybody mentioned was 'family home'."
The couple, who married last year, have five children between them - former TVNZ star Hawkesby's sons Jackson and Josh and daughter Marley from her previous marriage to Richard Lyne, and NewstalkZB host Hosking's twin girls Bella and Ruby to ex-wife Marie Hosking.
"This is big, but they want bigger," Mr Hart said.
The house is located within zones for Auckland Grammar School and Epsom Girls Grammar. The couple seek a sale of higher than $2.5 million.
