A Rotorua man accused of assaulting a 9-month-old boy has denied all charges against him.
Piripi Te Rame Sisley, 22, pleaded not guilty in the High Court at Rotorua today to one charge of assaulting the baby, one of intentionally applying force likely to cause the baby injury and one of recklessly wounding him.
The offences are alleged to have occurred between December 25 and 28 last year.
The baby was airlifted to Auckland's Starship Hospital in a serious but stable condition after an ambulance was called to a Korimako St house in Selwyn Heights. He was later discharged from hospital into the care of Child, Youth and Family.
Sisley was remanded in custody until July 4 for a scheduled bail application.
His trial has been set for March 3, 2014.
