An investigation has been launched into an Auckland business which offers to write assignments for Chinese university students.
The business users tutors, some outside the country, to write assignments to order for students at various New Zealand universities.
The tutors are paid and have specialist subjects.
Tertiary Education Minister Steven Joyce has only recently been informed about the issue.
"I was briefed on Friday that there was an issue. There was apparently an anonymous tip-off about some assignments back in 2007 to NZQA about three months ago.''
NZQA and the police are looking into the matter.
