An Auckland man wanted on multiple arrest warrants is "violent and dangerous" and should not be approached, police say.

Police are seeking Ngarahupi Hohepa Kaka, 39, for breaching court release conditions, failing to answer court bail, and breaching protection orders.

Warrants for his arrest were issued in the Auckland District Court.

Police also want to speak to Kaka in relation to two sexual violation matters.

They said the Mt Roskill man was "violent and dangerous" and should not be approached.

Police have described him as a 1.8m tall Maori of thin build with long, dark hair which he sometimes wears in a ponytail.

He has contacts in Auckland and Dannevirke and is known to frequent bars and backpackers in central Auckland.

Police said Kaka could also be travelling to Wellington.
