Three people have been injured after a stolen car crashed into a pole in Hamilton this evening.

A man with critical injuries and two women with serious injuries were been taken to Waikato Hospital, police said. Their ages were unknown.

The incident occurred on Massey St, Frankton, at 6.50pm, St John Ambulance communications team manager Norm Ngatai said.

Police Inspector Willie Taylor said the serious crash unit was at the scene.
