"Brassed off" business owners have helped police arrest three Northland men in relation to the aggravated robbery of a Canadian tourist in Paihia last week.
Two of the men, aged 21 and 22, have been charged with aggravated robbery and are due to appear at Kaikohe District Court today.
A third man, aged 20, has been charged with assisting the pair after the crime.
The response from Paihia businesses directly led police to the arrests, said Detective Senior Sergeant Rhys Johnston.
"They were rightfully 'brassed off' about these robberies threatening their livelihoods and were pulling out all the stops to try and help police solve them," he said.
Police were still working on the Easter Weekend robbery of three English tourists, which appears to have no connection with Friday's robbery of the Canadian tourist, said Mr Johnston.
