A Tauranga man accused of attempting to abduct an 11-year-old girl remains behind bars.
Aden Kingi, 28, from Ohauiti, who has been charged with one count of attempted abduction and possession of cannabis, briefly appeared in Tauranga District Court today.
The attempted abduction charge stems from an allegation that Kingi approached an 11-year-old girl while she was out biking in Ohauiti Rd on February 11, and tried to entice her into his vehicle.
The cannabis charge relates to a search of Kingi's home.
Kingi, who is yet to plead to the charges, was further remanded in custody by Judge Tom Everett after his lawyer Larry Meredith said he was still awaiting more disclosure from police.
Kingi was refused bail and lost his bid for name suppression at his last court appearance. He is next due in court on March 25.
