Shots were fired during a home invasion at a North Shore house last night.

The occupants of the house were left "extremely shaken" but unhurt in the incident at a property in Glenfield about 11pm yesterday, police said.

At least two people arrived at the address, sparking an altercation with the occupants. Shots were then fired inside the house.

The offenders then left in at least two vehicles.

Detective Sergeant Scott Armstrong said police would conduct a forensic examination at the property today.

Police were seeking more information from members of the public.
