Police are advising caution on lower North Island roads due to overnight rain, fog and wind gusts this morning.
Central Communications Centre spokesperson Sergeant Andy Dow said overnight rain had caused many roads in the lower North Island to be slippery and there were reports of minor flooding.
Meanwhile there is limited visibility in Wellington due to low mist.
Police also have reports of high winds on the Desert Road.
Mr Dow reminded motorists to drive to the conditions.
