SH23 closed after three-vehicle crash

A serious crash involving three vehicles has closed State Highway 23 between Whatawhata and Raglan.

Three people, including two children, were injured in the crash. One child was taken to hospital by ambulance, while a male driver and another child were flown to Waikato Hospital by helicopter.

Police said the road is likely to be closed for a number of hours, after the crash at about 5pm today.

Diversions are in place at Mangatawhiri and Greenslade Roads.

The Waikato Serious Crash Unit is conducting the crash investigation.
