A man is helping police with the investigation into the disappearance of a North Shore woman.

A forensic examination is under way at a property in Torbay, 11 days after Bin "Cissy'' Chen, 44, failed to return home from her regular evening walk.

She left her Torbay home about 5.30pm on Monday last week, and when she did not return home her distressed partner raised the alarm.

Extensive land and air police searches of Long Bay reserve and the surrounding area have failed to turn up any sign of her.

There have been no public sightings of her since she went missing, confirmed police.

They would not say whether Ms Chen had touched her bank account or used her mobile phone since she was last seen.

The search for Ms Chen has been upgraded to a homicide investigation.

Anyone with information on the whereabouts of Ms Chen is urged to call police on 08000 24779 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
