Man injured after leaping from blaze

By -

A man was left bleeding and distressed after leaping from his burning Rotorua home early this morning.

Firefighters found the kitchen of the one-storey Wrigley St home in Fordlands well ablaze when they arrived shortly after 5am.

A Fire Service spokesman said police were also called to deal with an "extremely distressed" man who cut his foot while jumping from the house.

Fire Service officers were at the scene investigating the cause of the blaze, which had gutted the house.
