A 20-year-old man is in a critical condition after a car and a truck collided in Hastings this morning.
Police said the car lost control on a corner and crossed the centre line before colliding with a southbound truck on Stock Rd in Bridge Pa about 9.30am.
The car's driver, its sole occupant, was taken to Hawke's Bay Hospital in a critical condition.
The driver and passenger of the truck were uninjured but quite traumatised.
Police said inquiries into the crash were continuing.
