Three quakes hit Canterbury overnight

Three earthquakes hit Canterbury overnight, the strongest measuring magnitude 3.8.

The first quake was 15km east of Seddon just after 2am, measuring 3.3.

The magnitude 3.8 tremor followed at 3.15am, 20km east of Christchurch, and a third, measuring 3.2, was felt 20km west of the city at 3.40am.
