A tourist suspected of burgling an apartment and leaving a DNA-laden coffee mug at the crime scene is still eluding police - but he is now trapped in New Zealand.
A warrant was issued for French teenager Felix Damarey after he was filmed getting out of a lift in a Symonds St apartment building just before a woman's home was burgled.
Damarey, 18, was caught on camera drinking from a white coffee mug. That mug was found on the bench of the burgled apartment.
Constable John Goddard told the Herald the teenager's passport had a "stop" put on it which would prevent him from leaving the country without speaking to police.
Damarey's Facebook page was updated last week. He had listed his location as Auckland, but changed it to Christchurch on Sunday.
He was with a woman who is on bail awaiting her next court appearance on burglary charges.
If you know where Damarey is, contact Constable John Goddard at the Auckland Central police station on 09 302 6400 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
