A man has appeared in court today, charged after a woman was shot in the head.
The woman needed surgery to remove the bullet from her skull after an incident at a home in Manukau last month.
She underwent surgery in Middlemore Hospital after a CT scan revealed the bullet lodged in her head.
The 60-year-old man, who has name suppression, appeared in Manukau District Court this morning, and was remanded in custody until next month for a plea enquiry.
He is facing charges of being in possession of a pistol and attempted murder.
