Man dead following Bexley crash

A driver in his 60s has died after his car left the road in Christchurch this afternoon and landed in a ditch.

Police, Fire and Ambulance services were called to the scene on Bexley Road just after 12.30pm.

Police say no other vehicle was involved in the incident and the man was pronounced dead at the scene.

Officers believe his death may have been the result of a medical event, but any determination on the cause of death will be made following a post mortem examination.

There was no disruption to traffic in the area.
