A man was hit with a wheel brace during a home invasion carried out by masked men.
Police said three men, armed and wearing scarves over their faces, burst into a Wanaka house about 10.30pm yesterday and demanded drugs and cash.
The house was occupied by two men and a woman in their early 20s. Also at the house were three visiting friends.
One of the offenders hit a man over the head with a wheel brace, while the other victims were threatened by another offender holding a large piece of wood, Sergeant Aaron Nicholson said.
The offenders left on foot with a small amount of cash and property.
The injured man required stitches to his head wound but no one else was injured.
Mr Nicholson said these types of incidents were not random and the house was specifically targeted.
