All Blacks forward Adam Thomson was a tasty treat for this lion which licked the player at a wildlife park in South Africa.

The team are in South Africa for the Tri-Nations battle with the Springboks this weekend.

Yesterday, they visited the Seaview Lion Park in Port Elizabeth, which boasts more than 50 lions, as well as Siberian tigers and numerous other safari animals - but real springboks were nowhere in sight.

The squad picked for the trip to South Africa was most notable for the players not in the line-up, namely Dan Carter, skipper Richie McCaw, Brad Thorn, Mils Muliaina, Owen Franks and Conrad Smith.

Coach Graham Henry told the Herald he had "a team which is hungry to play well".

The All Blacks will go head-to-head with the Springboks on Sunday at the Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium in Port Elizabeth.
