The wheels are in motion to overhaul Auckland's city centre.
Auckland Council has today voted to go ahead with work on a 20-year master plan.
Ideas on the table include making Queen Street a pedestrian mall, creating a downtown Chinatown and providing playgrounds for children.
The options will be presented at an Auckland Summit in March when the public will get a chance to have its say.
