A 47-year-old New Plymouth man has been arrested and charged with manslaughter after a 44-year-old man was found dead in his flat in the city yesterday.
Detective Senior Sergeant Grant Coward says a post mortem examination is to be held to establish the cause of death.
He says the two were associates and were at the address in Govett Avenue at the time of the death.
The dead man's flatmate was also present at the time, and is assisting police with their inquiries.
Police were called just after midday yesterday.
The arrested man is in court tomorrow.
