Police were this afternoon continuing inquiries into events leading to the deaths of two people in southeast Auckland overnight.

A 36-year-old man and a 26-year-old woman were found dead shortly after midnight at the address in Walworth Ave, Pakuranga, 16km southeast of downtown Auckland.

Police had been called shortly beforehand by a 14-year-old girl who said there was a "serious domestic argument" taking place inside the house.

Police have said they were not looking for anyone else in relation to the incident, but they were still at the scene today.

About nine police cars were seen at the address this afternoon, including forensic examiners.

Two hearses were also there early this afternoon.

A post-mortem examination into the bodies will be held tomorrow.

The names of the deceased have not been released, and a police spokesman said it might be a couple of days before all next of kin are notified.
