Looking over the pictures he had taken at the Round the Bays event, the last thing Michael Packer was expecting to see was a jogger breastfeeding her baby.
Mr Packer, from Melbourne, was out at Sunday's big run snapping some photos of a friend who was participating in the annual Auckland event. But while looking over the pictures and videos he had taken, in a Parnell pub afterwards, he noticed a "different" event going on as well.
"I was looking through the clips and I just saw a picture of her breastfeeding!
"[Everyone in the pub] went nuts!"
Decked out in a singlet, hat and sunglasses, the woman looks to be just another ordinary participant out for the big run - but with a baby at her chest having its feed."
Mr Packer said the people around the woman could be seen laughing, but everyone looked to be okay with it, he said, while the woman herself was happily chatting away and having a good time.
Mr Packer said although it was a "weird" thing to see at the Round the Bays event, he applauded the woman's courage to feed her baby in public.
"I think it's fantastic that women have the courage - because it's an instinct thing - your baby needs to be fed. And she was enjoying herself. She was a happy lady."
