More than 75 people have lost their jobs after liquidators closed part of a home-based childcare service.
The South Island operations of Easy Mind have been shut down, because liquidators could not secure the short-term cash required to pay staff and educators.
Southern development manager Sharon Castle says in Dunedin about eight staff and 56 educators have been shown the door. She says 12 educators in Southland have also been affected.
Ms Castle says she feels gutted, disappointed and betrayed.
