The attempted Christmas Day terrorism attack on a plane flying from Amsterdam to Detroit has once again prompted the United States to increase security measures on all its in- and out-bound flights.
Travellers heading to the USA from Auckland Airport now face a rigorous second set of security checks including luggage searches, the use of sniffer dogs and possibly body searches.
