An 87-year-old woman drove her car through the front of an east Auckland shop when she hit the accelerator instead of the brake today.
Police were called to the Baker's Delight shop at the Pakuranga Plaza about 12.30pm.
She narrowly missed a young child but hit two women, Inspector Shawn Rutene said.
One of the women suffered serious leg injuries and the other, a store employee, suffered cuts to her head from flying glass. Enquiries were continuing into the accident, Mr Rutene said.
The driver was taken to Middlemore Hospital suffering from shock.
