Fire fighters are battling a house fire in Plimmerton, north of Wellington.
Central Fire Communications shift manager Andrew Tollison said fire services were called to the blaze shortly before 7pm and it was well involved when they arrived.
Four appliances were at the scene and fire safety officers were investigating the cause of the fire.
Mr Tollison said he believed all the occupants of the house were accounted for and no injuries had been reported.
