Around 300 residents from Woodville and surrounding areas gathered in the town to hear the NZ Transport Agency announce their options for the alternative Manawatu Gorge routes.
Yesterday the NZTA had their first meeting in Palmerston North as they revealed 13 options to replace the Manawatu Gorge road.
Palmerston North's question time got heated because the NZTA wanted to limit questions to just a handful, with people asking additional questions in person later.
It was different tonight in Woodville, with the crowd reacting mostly positively, though many were puzzled by the lack of cost and timing information.
John Peach is a local contractor who uses the Saddle Road daily, and says the Government has the money. His comments echoed the sentiments of many locals at the event - "It needs to be done quickly and efficently".
