It's time to trade in that juicer for a blender - "souping" is the hot new health craze in California.
In Los Angeles, the humble soup has been reinvented as the latest wellness trend and soup diets are increasing in popularity.
Devotees of the diet refer to it as "souping" and are raving about its superiority over the immensely popular juicing craze.
Health blogger Jen Johnson said she liked souping because, "it's a complete meal."
"I'd previously done juicing in the past and I could never make it through a whole day, let alone a whole week.
"I could soup for five days and when I'm done I want more."
Souping is considered a better option to juicing as the protein and fibre from the vegetables remains in the soup.
An average souping diet involves eating five to eight soups a day, some hot and some cold.
