Whangarei surfer Billie Scott carved, snapped and bottom-turned her way to fourth at the recent 2015 National Scholastic Surfing Championships.
Scott was the Northland team's best performing surfer after finishing fourth in the Under-16 Girls division final.
She placed behind Zhana Hutchieson, Elin Tawharu and Tiana Breeze De Mooij.
Other Northland surfers ripping it up at the event included Max Brunker, Matthew Jensen, Kohl Mase, Oscar Harper, Grace Pevats, Sergio Hansen, Jamahl Moselen, Joseph Critchfield, Kalani Hansen, Tom Parker and Tom Norton.
Northland finished in seventh place among the 12 regional teams competing in championships, which were held at Makorori Beach near Gisborne.
Starting the event with a bang, Northland were ranked No1 after day two, but slumped to seventh on the final points count.
There were 12 regional teams taking part in the event, with 106 surfers competing.
The National Scholastic Championships was grouped together with the National Primary School Champs, an event which saw Northland's Tom Robinson secure his first national title with a solid win in the Boys' Division.
