The Interclub Sixes competition for 1-5 year bowlers was completed at the Kamo greens last Monday.
Results were: 1st: Kensington Blue, 16 pts +68 shots; 2nd: Kamo 16 pts +47; 3rd, Whangarei 16pts +28; 4th Hikurangi 14pts + 36; 5th: Mangawhai Women 13 pts, + 27; 6th, One Tree Pt, 12 pts -45; 7yh, Ngunguru/Kamo combined 9pts -11; 8th, Mangawhai Men 8 pts, -10; 9th Mt Manaia 8pts, -59; 10th, Kensington Navy 8pts, -81.
After three rounds Whangarei (14pts) were in the lead by one game from Kamo (12), Hikurangi (12), Mangawhai women (11) and Kensington Blue (10). Kensington were the only team to score three wins in the last round, each game was won convincingly and they came through to win the event. The competition was extremely close and there were some outstanding bowls played, particularly from the singles players and the first-year bowlers, who were taking part in their first centre event. The winning team was: Linda Spratt (singles); Chris Budge, Verna Clyde (pair); Alan Wheeler, Don Nicholson, Rex Thomas (triples).
Kensington Blue will now represent Northland in the regional Mercedes Cup.

Well done
Well done to the Kensington combination skipped by Eric Pattillo who last week were runner up in the Taranaki Open tournament. Several teams from Northland attended. This week the women's equivalent is being played and two teams from Northland were competing. The Kensington combination skipped by Maureen Parker is defending the title.
The next centre event is the Championship Open Singles and entries close next Thursday.
