Golf: Neho finishes 4th in Junior Classic

Northland amateur Kadin Neho has finished fourth at the Srixon International Junior Classic in New South Wales.

The 17-year-old from the Whangarei Golf Club, who made history when he became the first Northland golfer to win the NZ Amateur in April, carded an even-par 71 in the final round at the Maitland Golf Club to finish on a one-over par total.

Neho shot rounds of 70, 70, 74 and 71 over the weekend to finish on a one-over par total, nine shots back from Australian Harrison Endycott who won by two strokes.

The Northland rep has enjoyed a dream season in 2013. He was an unexpected New Zealand Amateur Champion at the Manawatu Golf Club, he followed that up to finish as the leading amateur at the ask

He was also a key figure in Whangarei Boys' title defence of the New Zealand Secondary Schools title at the Templeton Golf Club.

Meanwhile, Waikato amateur Denzel Ieremia finished tied 25th after carding an even-par 71 in the final round.

In the women's championship, Auckland amateur Wenyung Keh and Wellington No 1 Julianne Alvarez finished third and in a share of fourth place respectively at the Srixon International Junior Classic.

Keh shot a two-over par 74 in the final round to finish on a seven-over par total, 14 shots back from the champion Australian Shelly Shin.

Alvarez shot a one-under par 71 in the final round.
