Flowers can brighten up anyone's day.
So when Whanagarovians found free bouquets of roses, irises, alstroemerias and other blooms lying around town today they were beaming.
To mark International Lonely Bouquet Day the Mangakahia Garden Club have spent the morning in the Whangarei Central Library creating gorgeous bouquets which they have left in different places for punters to find.
Bouquet day encouraging punters to leave bouquets of flowers in public places with a note attached to "take me home" or "gift on".
Catherine Davis-Colley, a member of the club, said last year was so successful members decided to do it again.
"The response last year was overwhelming, everyone thought it was a good idea," she said.
Each bouquet has a note attached to it. So if you see flowers lying around the place, pick them up and take them home.
