Mangawhai Golf Club's Tarrin Rous is a young golfer on a mission.
Rous has recently been competing in the US Kids Golf Tour, a worldwide event where young golfers aged 6 to 18 play off against each other.
He competed in the boys' 13-14 division where there were eight events. Players are required to play at least four of these events and post a score of 84 or less on at least one occasion.
Rous played all eight events - three prior to Christmas and the last five over 12 days in January at various courses in Auckland.
He finished on top of the points table for his age division and posted scores of 84 or less four times.
This qualified him for the Teen World Championships at the iconic Pinehurst course in North Carolina, US. The tournament takes place from July 27-29.
The Teen World Championships are a major championship event for youth golfers aged 13 to 18.
Rous is a Northland junior representative player and represents Mangawhai Golf Club in their pennants side.
