CCTV footage holds clues
Police are hoping CCTV footage will identify three young women who smashed a large number of bottles outside the BaySport clubrooms in Waipapa on Saturday evening, just hours after volunteers had spent the day cleaning up ahead of the new sports season. They returned Sunday to spend another two hours picking up shards of glass. Senior Sergeant Brian Swann said police would share the CCTV images to identify the women.
Assault charges
A man was charged with assault with a blunt instrument after he allegedly drove over another man at the Taipa reserve in the early hours of Saturday morning. According to police the offender kept hold of the victim after they had shaken hands, then drove off. When he was released the victim was run over by one rear wheel, suffering bruising and abrasions to his legs and stomach.
