Lotto luck
Four Lotto players from Auckland, Paraparaumu, Nelson and Dunedin are each $250,000 richer after winning Lotto First Division on Saturday. Powerball was not struck and has rolled over to Wednesday night, where the jackpot will be $5million. Meanwhile a player from Christchurch won $116,635 with Strike Four. The Lotto numbers were 04, 13, 27, 32, 33, 38 bonus ball 35 and Powerball 02. The Strike numbers were 27, 33, 38, 32.
Two hurt in crash
Firefighters had to free one person from a truck after it went into a ditch on Kaitaia-Awaroa Rd on Friday night. A Fire Communications spokesman said one person was trapped in the 4x4 ute and rescue equipment was used to extricate the person following the crash, which happened about 6pm. Police said an adult and toddler were assessed by ambulance and had moderate injuries.
Driver hits power pole
A driver was transported to hospital following a crash in Whangarei yesterday morning. Police said a person was injured after a car hit a power pole on Otaika Valley Rd just before 5am. The driver had moderate injuries and was transported by ambulance to hospital.
