In one hour last November 462 people, above, had their heads shaved in aid of Kerikeri's Bald Angel Charitable Trust.

Organiser Therese Wickbom is awaiting official confirmation from the Guinness Book of Records that their world-record shave-off will be ratified.

In the meantime the trust, which raises money for Northland's vulnerable children, is holding a fundraiser gala dinner, dance and grand auction tomorrow night at Kingston House in Kerikeri.

Auction packages range from $500 through to a five-star luxury day cruise valued at over $8000.

Two women on the night will have their heads shaved and a Facebook page, "Beth & Becs Go Bald 4 Angels", has been set up to raise additional funds.
