The Northland Centre Awards evening was held last weekend and gave the bowling fraternity the chance to recognise people in our sport who have achieved in service. Thanks to Yovich & Co; the major sponsor, and to Graeme and Diane Lawrence for their sponsorship of these awards.

Keeper: Roly Brown - Waipu; Administrator: Carol Henwood - Mangawhai; Team of the Year: Northland Women's Open Rep Team; Coach: Ann Muir - Kensington; Service to Bowls: Wally Yovich - Whangarei.
Gold Stars for winning five Centre titles were awarded to Leanne Stewart (Hikurangi); Steve Smith (Whangarei); George Lyddiard (Kensington); Dean McMurchy (Kensington). Gold Bars for more than five titles were awarded to John Dunn.

The Tiger Turf League winter competition, three player pairs, continues this weekend with One Tree Point holding a section of the competition this Saturday July 9. Anyone wanting an entry please contact Phyllis Hayward at the club.
The Hikurangi section scheduled for June 24 was cancelled due to weather and has been rescheduled for July 16. They have vacancies, contact Ken Fitness or Steve Mitchell. The Regional final will be held at the Kamo Club on July 24.
