Helicopter rides, family getaways and romantic dinners are all up for grabs for just $5 as part of a deluxe raffle raising money for Whangarei's proposed Hundertwasser Art Centre.

Nearly $11 million has been raised towards building the Hundertwasser Art Centre with Wairau Maori Art Gallery at Whangarei's Town Basin, which needs $16.25 million by June 2017 to proceed.

Volunteers Susie Abraham and Mary Johnston have spent more than nine months organising the raffle, which they hoped would raise a "significant amount".

There were three separate prize pools, with tickets costing $5 for one, $10 for three or $65 for a book of 20.

The raffle is part of a Hundertwasser fundraising drive this month but the raffle ticket sales would continue until September, with prizes drawn on September 19.

Ms Johnston said volunteers would run raffle stalls at some events and supermarkets periodically, but tickets were available from "Hundertwasser HQ" on Cameron St.
