The Blues have touched base with Whangarei's youth ahead of their warm-up match against the Northland Barbarians.
Seven of the Blues squad went to Whangarei Youth Space to talk to young people about different future aspirations.
Hoani Matenga, Rene Ranger, Tevita Li, Kara Pryor, Matt Moulds, Namatahi Waa and Tanerau Latimer took time from training for an important cause.
Moulds, who is a Northland local, said it was good to come back home and be out meeting the public.
"Coming out to see this sort of space and spending time with people from all walks of life has been pretty cool," he said.
Those present had a great time talking with guys who have gone on to realise their own aspirations from when they were their age.
The Blues take on the Barbarians at Toll Stadium tonight.
The Blues 2016 squad contains five Northlanders: Moulds, Pryor, Waa, Jack Ram and Sam Nock. Moulds, Pryor and Waa will take the field tonight, while 2017 Blues signing Josh Goodhue will start at lock for the Barbarians side.
