Police, firefighters and even bank staff swapped uniforms for running gear to raise funds for the Andrew Clubley Memorial run.
Individuals and relay teams lined up on Friday behind Whangarei police station and then completed a circuit that went down Port Rd, across Te Matau a Pohe, along Riverside Drive, across the Canopy Bridge and back to the police station.
It was a colourful affair with plenty of spot prizes up for grabs at the after-match function.
Senior policeman Detective Sergeant Andrew Clubley, 49, died in Whangarei Hospital after suffering serious head and neck injures in a fall from a bike on the Whangarei BMX track at Pohe Island in May last year.
The money raised by the run will be donated to Ruakaka Surf Lifesaving Club for their junior training programme.
