A Whangarei plus-size model has made it through to the final 10 of the Miss Pin-up New Zealand 2015 contest.
Kamo woman Hannah Gough has impressed the judges with her quirky style and bubbly personality and is also hoping to impress them with public votes in the People's Choice category.
The 25-year-old early childhood teacher at Kamo Preschool, who is also a player with the Northland Nightmares roller derby team and a novice powerlifter, said her passion for vintage - classic clothes, style and fashion - has led her to being the only Northland contestant for the coveted title of Miss Pin-up New Zealand 2015.
Under her pin-up name, Miss Glamour LaRue, Hannah also writes social media updates about life as a curvy girl.
She has just made it through to the finals at the Very Vintage Weekend at Auckland's Alexandra Park in April and will compete against nine others for the title.
She has urged readers to get online and help her scoop the People's Choice award.
"Whangarei, I need your help. Say hello on my Miss Glamour LaRue Facebook page, follow the link and vote for me."
Talia Stephens, Auckland, founder of The Very Vintage Day Out, said the Miss Pin-up New Zealand pageant was seeking women with the timeless elegance and poise from the 1940s to the early 1960s.
The final 10 would complete catwalk tasks, a talent section and a Q&A session, with the winner scooping the high profile title for the year, more than $3500 of prizes and a year of vintage engagements.
The event will be judged by singer Tami Neilson, international pin up Ruby Rabbit and owner of Decadia Vintage and creative director of Glory Days magazine, Rose Jackson.
