Police found $20,000 worth of P after stopping a car in Kaikohe

About $20,000 worth of methamphetamine - also known as P - was found when a man and woman accused of drug dealing were nabbed by Kaikohe police.

The pair were arrested after their car was stopped in Kaikohe about 1pm on Monday.

When a search of their car turned up cash and methamphetamine, police then turned their attention to a house in Kaikohe where more drugs and cash were found.

Police seized a total of 24 grams of methamphetamine with a street value of about $20,000, five tabs of LSD and $3320 in cash.

A 44-year-old man and 39-year-old woman appeared in the Kaikohe District Court yesterday on charges of possession for supply of methamphetamine and possession of utensils for methamphetamine.

The man was also charged with possession of LSD.

They were remanded in custody and are due back in court on August 19.
