Doubtless Bay Playgroup is holding its annual Easter dig at Taipa Beach on Saturday with thousands of chocolate eggs to be won.
Registration costs $3 per child and starts at 11am with the dig beginning at 1pm.
The beach will be divided into four digging areas for children aged 3 and under, 4-6, 7-9 and 10-12. Sticks buried in the sand can be redeemed for Easter eggs.
Other attractions include a sausage sizzle, lamb sandwiches, a bouncy castle, face painting, a cake stall and ice creams. Prizes in the quick-fire raffles include accommodation packages, restaurant vouchers and beauty treatments.
The Easter dig, now in its 15th year, is the group's main fundraiser. This year's proceeds will go towards a sunshade for the swing area and a new garden shed.
In its first year, the event attracted 268 diggers and raised $1300. Saturday's dig is expected to attract more than 600 children and their families.
